Process
My clients often prefer receiving edits electronically in Microsoft Word. This method is generally faster for you: you can see what I have done and accept or reject edits as you read and do not have to enter markup from hard copy. Other benefits include saving on back-and-forth shipping costs and conserving paper. If you do prefer working with hard copy markup, however, I am comfortable using traditional proofreader’s notations and am happy to use this method upon request. Below is a small sample of an edit using the Track Changes feature in Microsoft Word. Text in red is original copy that I have deleted or replaced; in blue is text I have added. Each change can be accepted or rejected separately.
